Case Court Info, Dockets, Offenses, and Conditions


Objective: Learn how to update court name and location, judge name, sentence, dockets, offenses, and supervision conditions.

 

Accessing Court Data

To access Court data, navigate to the case you wish to view, then select Court Info on the blue case toolbar at the top of the screen. Court Information, as well as Offenses and Conditions will be displayed here.

 

Adding or Editing Court Info

The Court Info section includes items such as the court name, judge, sentence, etc. (displayed below). To add or edit this information, follow the steps below.

 

  1. Click anywhere inside the card containing Court information to open the edit view.

  2. Enter the County or select the Court, Judge, and Sentence from the corresponding drop down menus.  

  3. If you are satisfied with your changes, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.   

    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

 

Dockets

Dockets can be found below the Court information.

Adding a Docket

  1. Click the "Add New" button in the bottom right of the screen, then select “Add Docket”.   

     

  2. When the edit view opens, enter the docket number in the text field labeled Docket.

  3. If you are satisfied with your entry, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.   
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

Editing a Docket

  1. Click the Docket record you wish to edit in the Docket list to open the detail view.



  2. Click the edit icon in the toolbar to open the edit view.   

     

  3. When the edit view opens, enter the docket number in the text field labeled Docket.

  4. If you are satisfied with your changes, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.  
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

Offenses and Conditions

Offenses and Conditions can be found below the Court information. These can be tied to a specific docket. Both Offenses and Conditions are added in a similar way. The following steps will demonstrate how to add either type of record.

Adding an Offense

  1. Click the "Add New" button in the bottom right of the screen, then select “Add Offense”.   

     

  2. When the edit view opens, select the Charged Offense and Offense Degree from the corresponding drop down menus.



  3. Select the associated docket

  4. If you want to make any additional notes or comments, enter them in the Note field.

  5. If you are satisfied with your entry, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.   
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

Editing an Offense

  1. Click the Offense record you wish to edit in the Offenses list to open the detail view.

  2. Click the edit icon in the toolbar to open the edit view.   

  3. When the edit view opens, select the Charged Offense and Offense Degree from the corresponding drop down menus if you wish to update them.

  4. Select the associated docket if you wish to update it. 

  5. If you want to make any additional notes or comments, enter them in the Note field.

  6. If you are satisfied with your changes, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.  
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

 

Adding a Condition

  1. Click the "Add New" button in the bottom right of the screen, then select “Add Condition”.

  2. When the edit view opens, select the Condition from the drop down menu.

  3. Select the associated docket

  4. If you want to make any additional notes or comments, enter them in the Note field.

  5. If you are satisfied with your entry, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.  
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.

Editing a Condition

  1. Click the Condition record you wish to edit in the Conditions list to open the detail view.

  2. Click the edit icon in the toolbar to open the edit view.   

  3. When the edit view opens, select the Condition from the drop down menu if you wish to update it.

  4. Select the associated docket if you wish to update it. 

  5. If you want to make any additional notes or comments, enter them in the Note field.

  6. If you are satisfied with your changes, click the checkmark icon in the toolbar to save the record.   
    If you wish to close the edit view without saving, click the x in the toolbar to cancel your changes and return to the previous screen.to open the detail view.



Options for items such as Court, Judge, Sentence, Conditions, Offenses, and Offense Degrees can be added or edited in the Organization Management portion of Probatum.
